Altenew's July Color Challenge

Okay, I'm going to be honest here, we're up in Madison, Wisconsin and I can't wait for Fall...already.  It's almost the middle of July and I am completely covered in mosquito bites and I itch from head to toe. There, now I feel a bit better for whining and I'm on to the card.  I'm playing along with the July Altenew Color Challenge and it's perfect because I wanted to make a card for a friend and thought I'd tie it into the challenge.  To create this A2 card, I did some masking and stamping with the Wild Hibiscus set and used the two shades of pink and two shades of green from Altenew.  Once all the stamping was done, I used the stripes stencil to create a background behind the flowers and die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle.  I used some leftover paper to stamp the sentiment and just cut around the lefthand side of the little sentiment and adhered all to some black cardstock. I also splattered some of the ink a bit on the panel as well.  Materials used are listed below.

Materials Used:
  • Altenew Wild Hibiscus Stamp Set
  • Altenew Inks:  Jet Black, Forest Glades, Frayed Leaf, Coral Reef, and Frosty Pink
  • Sentiment from an old Stampin' Up set (not sure of the name)
  • Stitched Rectangle from My Favorite Things
  • Canson 140 lb. Cold Press Watercolor Paper
  • Hobby Lobby Black Heavy Cardstock
