Watercolor Birthday Card

Happy Labor Day to Americans today!  Thought I'd play along with the Happy Little Stamper Watercolor Challenge today and I'm submitting a card I made for our Aunt Jo's 92nd birthday.  This was a lot of fun to make and super easy.  First I did a quick sketch in pencil of the triangle 'chain' and basket , and then used a waterproof black pen to actually do the little picture.  I didn't draw in the green/yellow leaves.  Next I took a mix of lemon yellow and indigo to mix green and used different mixes along the way to dot in the leaves.  I painted the planter with plain indigo blue.  Then I stamped the birthday sentiment.  I trimmed the watercolor panel down to 4 x 5-1/2".  Lastly I used a border embosser for the two side elements and adhered it to a kraft cardbase.  Thank you for reading this and the materials used are listed below.
Materials Used:
  • Sentiment:  Stampin' Up Simply Sketched
  • Border Element:  Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders
  • Watercolor Paint:  Mission Gold
  • Micron Pen 0.05
  • Canson 140 lb. Cold Pressed Watercolor Paper
  • Hobby Lobby Kraft Cardstock
