Altenew February Inspiration Challenge

Hello and welcome.  I just can't help but jump into the Altenew Monthly Inspiration Challenge every month.  I personally love their stamps and really find them challenging to play with.

This is an A2 card that I created by stamping the flower and leaves on watercolor paper.  I used the Altenew inks to paint the Hibiscus. I chose this one because the inspiration photo had notable stamens and figured this would be a closer fit.  Once everything was dried I stamped the oval frame stamp over top of all, added some Nuvo drops, and stamped the sentiment.  I die cut the panel and adhered it to the black card base.  I combined three different Altenew sets and the materials used are listed below.  Thank you very much for reading.

DIY Background (-:

This was fun and I made lots and lots of these backgrounds.  It was a technique I saw Jessica Frost-Balla do, and she it called impressionistic watercolor stamping  - here is the link to her youtube video:  Impressionistic Technique.  I do not have the Hero Arts liquid watercolors, so I played with the liquid watercolors that I have Dr. Ph. Martin.

I put about four each of drops Hansa yellow and UItramarine blue onto a craft mat, sprayed some water onto them to get them to move a bit and then took a large background stamp and smooshed it around onto the ink.  Once it was thoroughly wet, I dropped it onto a watercolor panel and held it there for a few seconds, lifting it quickly and then let it dry.  Once it was dry I die cut the panel and adhered it to the gray card base.

I stamped and die cut the word thanks in blue to sort of match the lighter blue of the background panel and sponged some of the blue ink I used to stamp the 'thanks' word onto another scrap of paper and stamped and embossed the word 'many' out of the blue.  I trimmed a really skinny little strip from the background to thread through the tag opening.

Thank you very much for reading this, and the materials used are listed below.  I'm entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
